Drop Pin

Players tap a spot on your image and the room's pins appear as a live cloud. How to set up a Drop Pin.

Drop Pin turns an image into the answer. You ask a question, show a picture, and every player taps the spot they think is right. Their pins land on the same image, so the room builds up a live "pin cloud" showing where everyone dropped. It works beautifully for maps, diagrams, photos, "where is…?" questions, or just gathering opinions on a picture.

How players experience it

  1. The question and image appear on the player's screen.
  2. They tap the spot on the image they want to pin. Keyboard users can aim a crosshair with the arrow keys and press Enter to drop their pin instead.
  3. Each player places one pin. Once it's down, the player sees "Pin dropped! 📍".
  4. Only after they've pinned do players see everyone else's pins. This keeps the crowd from biasing where people drop. Each pin gets its own colour so they stay readable on any image, and the player's own pin stands out.
  5. On the presenter/shared screen, the image fills with the room's pins live as guesses stream in, along with a running count of how many pins have been dropped.

If you've marked a correct area, once answers are revealed players see the correct zone highlighted in green and their own pin turns green (inside) or red (outside).

Setting one up as a host

  • Write your question and add an image. The image is the surface players tap, so pick one that makes the spot clear.
  • Choose a correct area (optional). Click "Choose correct area" and drag a rectangle over the image. Any pin that lands inside that green box counts as correct. You can redraw or clear it at any time.
  • With no correct area, Drop Pin is unscored. Nobody "wins", everyone just pins and you see where the room lands. This is great for opinion and discussion rounds.
  • With a correct area, it becomes a scored question: pins inside the area score like a quiz answer, and if the activity has a timer there's a speed bonus for answering faster.

Tips

  • No correct area = a poll on a picture. Use it to gauge opinion ("where would you build it?") with no right answer.
  • Add a correct area to make it competitive, and turn on a timer if you want the speed bonus to reward quick, confident pins.
  • Pick a clear image. The whole answer depends on players being able to see and aim at the right spot, so avoid tiny or cluttered pictures.

If you're not sure where to start, add a Drop Pin, write a "where is…?" question, drop in an image, and either leave it open for opinions or drag a correct area to score it.
