What players see
A tour of the join-and-play experience from the participant's phone. No app, no account.
Players never need an account and never install anything. Their whole experience happens in a phone browser. Here's what it looks like from their side, useful to know when you're explaining it to a room.
Joining
- They open tikroo.com/join.
- They enter the PIN you're showing on the main screen.
- They pick a nickname and tap to join.
That's it. They're in the session and waiting for the first activity.
Playing
For each activity, the player's phone shows just what they need:
- Quiz. Tappable answer options; faster correct answers usually score more.
- Poll / word cloud. Their choice or a short text input.
- Guess the number / slider. A slider or number entry.
- Games. Game-specific controls (spin, tap, drag, draw), often after a shared Get ready countdown so everyone starts together.
The big shared screen carries the question, the timer, and the live results. The phone is deliberately a controller, so players look up at the room, not down at their laps.
Between activities
Players wait on a short holding screen until you advance. After scored rounds they may see their rank and the leaderboard.
If a player loses connection
If someone's phone sleeps or their signal drops, they can reopen tikroo.com/join with the same PIN and nickname to rejoin, and their place in the session is preserved. More detail in Reconnecting.
