Supported browsers & devices

What you need to build and present Roos, what players need to join, plus fixes for a browser acting up.

Tikroo runs in the browser. There's nothing to install for hosts or players. To keep it smooth, use a current browser on any reasonably modern device.

What works

  • Modern browsers. Recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge are all supported.
  • Any device. Phones, tablets, laptops and desktops all work. Players almost always join from a phone; hosts usually present from a laptop or desktop connected to a screen.
  • Keep it updated. The most reliable setup is simply the latest version of whichever browser you prefer.

Presenting

  • Present from a device you can connect to the projector or shared screen.
  • Give it a stable connection and stop the screen from sleeping mid-session.

Players

  • Any up-to-date phone browser is fine. No app, no account.
  • On locked-down networks, mobile data is a dependable fallback.

If a browser is misbehaving

Try these in order:

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Update the browser to the latest version.
  3. Clear the cache or open a private / incognito window to rule out a stale or cached version.
  4. Try another browser to see whether the issue follows you (that tells you whether it's the browser or the network).
  5. Disable intrusive extensions. Aggressive ad or script blockers can interfere with interactive pages.
